Taiwanese Desserts Review: Nine Fresh VS Blackball

I've been doing clothing, make up, fashion related reviews and haven't tried out food reviews and I thought I'd give it a try and I hope I do well!

Nine Fresh and Blackball are both Taiwanese desserts, both have their own charms and what I'm gonna do in this post is to share my thoughts on each of them.

I don't know if I mentioned this before but I'm not really a big fan of sweet stuffs. So if I like a certain dessert, that means it's extremely delicious.

One thing about sweet stuffs which is it contains milk/butter for example cakes, etc which I dislike if it has a strong scent to it. One of the main reason why I don't like sweet stuffs. But these 2 dish that I'm about to review really made my eyes wide open in awe! You're about to find out.

Nine Fresh:

I was totally fascinated by it! I'm not into desserts until one time my mom introduced it to me. I had a mouthful and baaamm, I fell in love!

The 2 pictures above have different mixings. The first one I got is beancurd base with red beans, lychees and mini taro balls toppings. The second one is beancurd and aiyu jelly base with red beans, lychees, aloe veras and mini taro balls toppings.

The latter one is sweeter than the former one. I personally liked the taste of latter one tho but too sweet to my liking, easy to get tired of.

They tend to give a lot as you can see from the pictures. The extra broth flows out as soon as I open the lid and I have to clean the remains away from the bowl. It'll be great if they offer bigger bowls like blackball's which I will be talking about in a bit.

Blackball:

What a huuugeee serving omg. I shared it with my mom because I cannot finish them all.

I am super impressed at the flavour! What I got is wintermelon shaved ice base with red beans, kidney beans, aiyu jelly, matcha balls and honey yam toppings.

This combination is perfection. It taste like heaven with addition of the cream! I am so touched like literally. They blends so well like how is it possible?? It is a little too sweet but I'm ok with it because it's delicious!

If you ordered more toppings, like 5 toppings or more, they give you a bigger container unlike Nine Fresh. Downside is that it is much more expensive than Nine Fresh. But who cares, the important thing is the taste!

Verdict:
To be honest, it's hard to choose between these 2 because they're both awesome. I found Nine Fresh way before Blackball so it's likely I got tired of the taste. At this point, I can say I prefer Blackball more in terms of taste. Price wise, it's definitely Nine Fresh. All in all, I love both!
